Benefits
Investing in quality hydraulic cylinders from NIO Equipment delivers measurable improvements in equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and maintenance costs. Precision-manufactured cylinders with hardened chrome-plated rods, honed bores, and high-performance seals provide consistent force output, extended service intervals, and reduced downtime compared to inferior alternatives. Custom engineering ensures every cylinder is optimized for its intended application.
How It Works
Hydraulic cylinders operate on Pascal's law — pressure applied to a confined fluid is transmitted equally in all directions. When a hydraulic pump forces oil into the cylinder barrel, it acts on the piston face creating force proportional to the fluid pressure multiplied by the piston area. In single acting cylinders, oil enters on one side and a spring or gravity returns the piston. In double acting cylinders, oil can enter on either side for controlled force in both directions. Seals prevent leakage between the piston and barrel and around the rod.
Advantages
